Also purchased was Bahr's extensive collection of metal foundry type, separately described and enumerated in a specimen book printed by Bahr.

The Adagio Press was founded in 1956 by Leonard F. Bahr. Leonard F. Bahr was born April 16, 1934. A graduate of Wayne State University, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War (1953-1955), and worked as an advertising typographer with George Willens and Company in Detroit for 34 years, retiring in 1991.
